Prices are as at 27 October 2026. Tesla's stock changes daily and individual cars sell. Always check the price Tesla shows for your postcode before you order.
Tesla Australia has put year-end discounts on Model 3 and Model Y cars it already has in stock. Its trade-in bonus of up to $2,000 still applies on top. Both offers require you to order and take delivery by 31 December 2026. These are stock discounts, not price cuts: Tesla's listed prices for factory orders haven't changed.
The stock discounts
| Variant (new stock) | Stock discount | Trade-in bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive | None | $1,000 |
| Model 3 Premium RWD | $2,750 | $2,000 |
| Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD | $3,100 | $2,000 |
| Model 3 Performance | $4,050 | $2,000 |
| Model Y Premium RWD | $2,950 | $2,000 |
| Model Y Premium Long Range AWD | $3,450 | $2,000 |
| Model Y L Premium AWD | $3,750 | $2,000 |
| Model Y Performance | None | $2,000 |
The $2,750 (Model 3 Premium RWD) and $2,950 (Model Y Premium RWD) discounts are confirmed on Tesla's own listings, as shown in the state examples below. The other amounts are as reported by Drive and matched by the Tesla Australia & NZ fan account EVStraya on X. Tesla's own offer terms confirm which variants qualify: new or demonstrator Model 3 Premium, Model Y Premium RWD, Model Y Premium Long Range AWD and Model Y L Premium AWD stock, ordered and delivered by 31 December, while stocks last. Some demonstrators are reported to have bigger reductions. The entry-level Model 3 RWD and the Model Y Performance get no stock discount.

What a stock car costs
Drive-away prices depend on the state and on the exact car. At the time Drive reported the deals, the cheapest stock cars in New South Wales were:
- Model 3 Premium RWD: $57,030 drive-away, after the $2,750 discount (reported, NSW).
- Model Y Premium RWD: $61,020 drive-away, after the $2,950 discount (reported, NSW).
Stock examples by state
These are real stock cars we took from Tesla's listings on 27 October 2026. All prices are Tesla's drive-away prices. Only some stock cars carry a reduction, and listings sell fast, so any of these may be gone when you look. The trade-in bonus, and a referral where it applies, can take the price lower again under the terms below.

To see what's in stock in your area, use Tesla's own search: Model 3 stock · Model Y stock. Enter your postcode and any discount shows as a separate price adjustment on the car.

The trade-in bonus: the terms in full
- Amount: $2,000 on Model 3 or Model Y Premium and Performance variants, and $1,000 on the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive. One bonus per order.
- Which cars: new or demonstrator Model 3 and Model Y only. Used Teslas aren't eligible.
- Who: private buyers. Business, fleet, enterprise, rental and government customers are excluded.
- Your trade-in: it must be registered and legally drivable when you hand it over. The bonus comes on top of Tesla's assessed offer for your car; it isn't part of the valuation.
- How it's paid: off the purchase price, or as cash back after delivery if the car is fully financed by a loan or novated lease. In that case you must tell your financier about it.
- Deadline: order and take delivery by 31 December 2026. Tesla doesn't guarantee delivery by then and can change or end the offer.
- Stacking: Tesla says the bonus "may be combined with other offers", including the stock discounts.
So on a stock Model 3 Performance with a trade-in, the two offers come to $6,050 off. On a Model Y L Premium AWD it's $5,750, as long as the car is still there and arrives before New Year.
A referral for a little more off
Tesla's Refer and Earn program gives first-time buyers who order through an owner's referral link a buyer benefit. Tesla's Australian terms say a new inventory car ordered through a referral link qualifies. Recent captures of Tesla's referral page, reported by an independent referral-tracking site, show $350 off on Model 3 and no buyer figure for Model Y. Tesla's terms don't say whether the referral stacks with the stock discount. Before you pay, check that your order summary shows the stock discount and the referral as separate lines. The referral link can't be added after the order is placed.

Disclosure: this is the EV Select site owner's personal Tesla referral link. If you use it, the owner may receive Tesla referral benefits. It doesn't change our coverage, and you can order without it.
Should you buy now?
If you were already set on a Premium Model 3 or Model Y, a stock car with a trade-in gets you $4,750 to $6,050 off before the end of the year, which is hard to beat. The catch is choice: you get the colour, wheels and interior of whatever car is in stock. Check the build date and the price summary carefully before you pay.
