Novated lease buyers can instead take a 6% discount off the list price (order by 21 December 2026, deliver by 31 January 2027). The two offers can't be combined.
Battery and range
Both Sealion 7s use the same 82.56 kWh BYD Blade (LFP) battery. The Performance adds a 160 kW front motor to the 230 kW rear motor for 390 kW and BYD's quoted 0–100 km/h in 4.5 s. WLTP range is 456 km (542 km on the older NEDC cycle, which BYD also quotes). Kerb weight is 2,340 kg.
Highway range tests
Bjørn Nyland, 120 km/h: 312 km. He tested a European-market Sealion 7 Performance with the 82.5 kWh battery at 20°C in dry conditions. That's the same drivetrain and battery as the Australian car. Wheel and tyre fitment may differ.
Out of Spec Reviews, 70 mph: no test. BYD doesn't sell the Sealion 7 in the US.

Charging
| DC peak | 150 kW (CCS2) |
|---|---|
| AC | 11 kW (Type 2) |
| 10–80% time | Not published in BYD Australia's Sealion 7 specifications |
150 kW is modest for a car this powerful, and BYD Australia doesn't publish a 10–80% time. Pair that with a 312 km highway result and long trips will need more stops than in the fastest-charging rivals.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
Good fit: buyers who want strong acceleration and AWD at a mid-$60k list price, with BYD's 8-year battery cover and a five-star ANCAP rating.
Look elsewhere if: you do frequent long highway trips (312 km at 120 km/h and 150 kW peak DC charging are both modest) or you need a published towing figure.
